I suppose it's a good place to put your child if you are a fan of bedbugs, unreturned phone calls, and contracts that are unenforcable. The case worker we tried to work with considered our son a "buddy" when we called for help during his first week of release. Our home is coming apart just like it did before 7 mos. of treatment(?) there. Emotional & behavioral issues were not dealt with sufficiently. It was a waste of hard earned money...

The Staff at Touchstone Hall has a difficult task to rehabilitate substance addicted teenage boys. Many of these young addicts were often out of control. I was unable to keep my own son away from the illegal substances. He created many problems for his school and the local police. He repeatedly ran away from home, sometines climbing out of the 2nd floor bedroom window to go to his supplier. I had to face the reality that I could not keep him safe. After years of counseling and outpatient programs, I sent him to Touchstone to learn to control his anger, modify his own behavior, and learn the 12-step philosophy. The staff worked to build his self-esteem. Thanks to their tireless efforts and with the help of the Bergen County Special Services School program, he graduated High School and is now a sober and productive member of society. I thank the staff at Touchstone Hall for their work in helping my son.

They tell parents they will review the case, after a week they tell all the parents, your child needs to be on medication and your child has to be here for at least 90 days. No air conditioning, no contact with family only parents maybe once a week, no phone calls. If this is a drug rehab why do they need to medicate your child. Why have group theraphy with all the heavy users with adolecents that only did marijuana? Teens end up running away because they end up being alone and stressed out as if they are in jail. IF they are ordered by the court the parents have no say. Beware and do your homework.
