Women beware my daughter was in Talbot House until I had to pick her her up with in ^ hours of her stay she was sexually degraded and sexually harassed that she feared for her safety. She had never felt so uncomfortable in her life and when she called me from the pay phone which was in a common area that the men and women share I knew something was wrong when she wouldnt speak. I had to say just answer me yes or no. Some of these men even wrote letters asking her when they were gunna get some. This place was supposed to help her n protect her from this, instead we had to remove her and find another facility for her. Thank god bc she is doing amazing but in the meantime no woman should feel threatened sexually and maybe there should be more supervision

My last relapse brought me to Tampa, Florida. I was down and out and no one would take me in. I knew that i needed to get back to N.Y. to Talbot House. The staff here are very understanding, even though it was my 4th time there in 5 yrs. They took me in with no questions asked. I now have eighteen months clean. Thanks Talbot House. 4th times the charm ;)

I found the Talbot House to be a great place to begin the process of recovery. While i was there the staff was tolerant of the different types of addicts that arrived. The time i spent there was very informative and helped me regain control to the point where I was ready for the Treatment Program they had arranged for me to follow.I had completed my program and I am forever grateful for the staff at the Talbot House for allowing me a bed to begin my journey back form the grips drugs had on me.I am now currently welcomed back into my families lives and joyful that I made it back from from living my life addicted to drugs.

I would like to express how grateful i am for having gone to the Talbot house. It was a conditioning for the place i went to follow. I was safe and plenty of information to get me started before entering a program that they had arranged for me to enter. I am forever indebted to them for helping me regain control of my life. I would like to thank them and also recommend them for anyone that is in need of a safe place with the best guidance.

My husband is there waiting for an opening at another program. I was under the impression that this was not really a rehab center so to speak but a "safe" place for people to go while waiting for an opening in a 28 day program.

The professional staff at Talbot showed me how much help was available to this addict if I would just admit my way did'nt work. They saved my life. It was 1994. I hope someday to pay back catholic charities in some small capacity for the expensive services they provide to ANYONE for free. L/T
