Nothing good about the way this facility is run. Unmonitored living conditions in a very unclean house. The owner is involved in a known racist biker club, and caters to those who know little to nothing about proper direction in recovery.

Looked at alot of transitional housing in Akron. Was definitly one of the best. Not a treatment center-this is for those wanting a nice place to stay while keeping sober. Good resources to other places if you need it-sounds like you needed more treatment guy-god bless you on your road to recovery

Sterling is one of the sober houses I looked at. I chose it due to the attitude of staying clean and the place is nicely decorated and clean. The location is fantastic and the people are helpful in letting you know of additional resources if you need them.

Sterling is a transitional housing provider. Links are given to resources that provide treatment and counselors. The support and clean environment are there. Who is "Sober Watch Akron?" (someone who went 'back out' I am sure) Get back with the program Sober Watch Akron!

Not a drug rehab, not a treatment center! No certified counselors involved with this program anywhere! The real transitional housing programs in the area will not have anything to do with this project or Kent Keesey. This is a glorified roach motel, dirty, with leaders with zero integrity or qualified experience in serving addicts or alcoholics in this capacity. They give others in the Akron area a bad rep acting like a program.

Sterling sober home is a fantastic environment for transistional housing. I've lived here for going on five months, and it has given me the opportunity to get a grip on my aa program, find a solid support network, and become actively involved in both service and recovery. It's centrally located in akron, within walking distance of both a sober club, and the famous st. thomas hospital. The recovery in akron is phenomenal and the opportunities have been abundant for me in my time here. The cost of living is reasonable, and the resources and help available to those who need it is more then available. The living conditions are above average, with decent space, internet access, and a number of people who are more then kind enough to involve you in akron aa if you are so inclined. When i left treatment i made the statement that i would stay sober even if forced to lived under a bridge, but staying here has been a true blessing in my life, and recovery.
